While the launch of Diablo 4 is some way off, Blizzard has been busy sharing new details on what fans can expect. Besides revealing the Necromancer, Blizzard Entertainment has also shared an extensive look at Diablo 4 in action.

Blizzard has confirmed that the final Diablo 4 class that'll be sitting around the campfire when you boot up the action-RPG is the Necromancer.

Blizzard has also pulled the curtain back on Diablo 4's endgame. Once players mark themselves as "hostile," these high-risk, high-reward areas of Sanctuary allow players to take a swing at others for their valuable loot. The devs have revealed the last Diablo 4 class in a new trailer showing what the Necromancer is all about.

In addition to the Necromancer, the trailer showed a good deal of gameplay, including the large-scale co-op events that can happen in the open world. In the open world, players can interact with other players they’re not in a party with. Development of both games has taken longer than expected, however — and Blizzard announced in November 2021 that both might be pushed as far back as 2023.

Granted no, it’s not mobile (well, it kind of could be through Xbox Cloud Gaming), but after Immortal it really, really needs to be made clear what the plans are for post-launch monetization. This may just be a feature in the showcase, but I suppose it could be a larger reveal, like confirmation that Diablo 4 will launch on Game Pass. Granted, games can stay in some form of alpha or beta for years now, but it’s still a bit odd to see.

Microtransactions have been a huge part of the backlash against Diablo Immortal.

Diablo 4 launches next year in 2023, Blizzard revealed at the Xbox showcase, and right now it's certainly shaping up to be one hell of a game. This is in a pretty strong contrast to Diablo Immortal, the mobile spin-off which Blizzard just launched earlier this month. Shortly after the presentation, Diablo global community lead Adam Fletcher popped up on Twitter to respond to someone with the statement just below, revealing microtransactions will be only for cosmetics in the new game.
