‘Rocky’ kept in touch with many of his Rabbitohs teammates and the Club, joining a Rabbitohs Old Boys contingent that visited young Jake Spurdle in Port Macquarie in 2021 to help raise funds for his fight against cancer. He also represented Country Seconds in 1980 in what was a very special year for the player and also the Club. In 1981, he represented City Firsts and NSW in two games. He played in 64 first grade games for the Rabbitohs, scoring 16 tries and one goal, captaining the side in nine games in 1980. He was also voted in the Team of the Year as best five-eighth, along with his teammate and captain Nathan Gibbs, who was voted the best second-rower of the year.
