PlayStation State of Play June recap — Street Fighter 6, Final ... (Tom's Guide)

The PlayStation State of Play in June 2022 ran for 30 minutes and broadcast trailers for Street Fighter 6 and Final Fantasy XVI, among other games.

It's a third-party game, and one has to imagine it will be available on PS5. Still, the odds don't seem likely. There will also be PSVR 2 content for the game, although we know less about that right now. It's not yet clear whether Spider-Man: Miles Morales will be part of this package, as the exact version differences on PS4/PS5 can get a little arcane. Now we have a look at Stray, which will debut for PS4 and PS5 on July 19. And that's a wrap on Sony's State of Play for June 2022. This evening, we expect to hear more about PSVR 2 software than hardware. Read on below for our live blog, which chronicled the State of Play as it happened. Looks like Spider-Man: Remastered will make its way to PC on August 12, 2022. It seems like a simulation/exploration game where you play as a cat. It will star plenty of returning favorites, including Ryu, Chun-Li and others. If you want to rewatch the livestream for yourself, you can tune in easily enough online. In late May, Sony announced that it would host one of its occasional State of Play streams, and even gave us a good idea of what to expect.

New games, PC ports, fancy trailers, announcements, there's a lot to get through.

So it’s great that PlayStation owners will be able to join in on the fun when the game releases on PS4 and PS5 on September 27. Oh, and Ada Wong is there, because is just wouldn’t be a Resident Evil game without its resident (ahem) femme fatale? Who needs a real haunted house when you can put a fake haunted house on your face? For now, we got some new Final Fantasy XVI footage, our first good look at Street Fighter 6 and its very strange career mode, a trailer for a very pretty but also troubled indie game, some VR news, a Resident Evil 4 remake and loads of other things that you can check out below. Create a foundation for learning with this free trial. I’m sure those are coming later in the month.

The trailer didn't give any VR-specific information about the re-imagined take beyond a vague, "PS VR2 content in development," but if the VR release of Resident Evil 7: Biohazard is anything to go off of, there's a chance the VR version could be a full version of the game. The trailer didn't specify when players will be able to explore Castle Dimitrescu in VR. That deliberate secrecy might point to Village being a launch title for the headset. In its June State of Play, Sony revealed a handful of new games for the PS VR 2.

The showcase of titles for the PS5, PS4 and PSVR2 also highlighted footage of "Horizon Call of the Mountain" and "No Man's Sky" for PS VR2.

Sony’s start-of-summer broadcast is the first in a two-week series of prepared announcements and premieres orchestrated by publishers to build hype around their upcoming titles. The trailer quickly cuts through short scenes of titans raining fire down on their enemies in massive, destructive battles as a court of characters discuss the ongoing strife. “Though the world finds itself in turmoil, we’ll continue to focus on what we do best — making games,” Yoshia said. After all the Resident Evil updates, Sony followed up with a series of other upcoming PS VR2 titles. The short trailer did not mention a date for the update. The first PlayStation VR headset sold for $400 when Sony released the device in 2016.
