Parramatta held on to win a back-and-forth NRL tussle in Canberra on Sunday, seeing off the Raiders 28-20 at GIO Stadium.

Another line break from the Eels provided them with dangerous field position and after a crafty spread to the right hand side, they found their third try of the half through former Raider Bailey Simonsson in the 27th minute. But in the 35th minute, a bomb from Wighton caused another mistake from Gutherson and Sebastian Kris was there once again to ground the football. Unfortunately for the green machine, they couldn’t find a way to get across the line even though they had plenty of close calls. The Raiders opted for the penalty goal, taking their lead out to four-points. Controversially, the Bunker deemed that a possible obstruction on Raiders forward Joe Tapine could’ve been avoided and stayed with the on-field decision of try. It wasn’t until the eighth minute that a kick across to the left hand side from Raiders debutant Jamal Fogarty gave Canberra their first points of the afternoon.
