Barnes has carved out an impressive career as a solo performer and leader singer of Cold Chisel, making him one of the most popular and best-selling Australian artists of all time. In 2017 Barnes was appointed an Officer of the Order Of Australia (AO). He has been inducted into the ARIA and APRA Halls Of Fame and has won six ARIA Awards and an APRA Award.
