Of Course Stranger Things Brought in Horror Icon ... (menshealth.com)

Horror icon Robert Englund—best known as Freddy Kreuger—joins the 'Stranger Things' for season 4 as Victor Creel.

With Wes Craven's 1984 horror classic A Nightmare on Elm Street, Englund began playing one of the most iconic villains in the horror genre: Freddy Kreuger. Freddy is one of the most popular Halloween costumes year-in and year-out for good reason, and that reason is that he's absolutely terrifying. In this case, we got to see Englund as more of a Dr. Loomis (from the Halloween films) than Freddy himself. “The fact that he came to us in a season that’s so deeply inspired by the Nightmare series and by his performance especially in those movies, it felt like fate,” Matt Duffer said. Englund only appears in one single episode of Stranger Things Season 4, but it's a vital role that is referenced both before and after his actual appearance. Ahhh! Yeah, that was us when we saw how ol' Victor looked in the image above when he was introduced in Episode 4 of Stranger Things Season 4. The people behind Stranger Things have never been shy about how much they like paying tribute to two things: the horror genre and the 1980s.

One of the most important—and most anticipated—new characters is Victor Creel, played by the horror icon himself Robert Englund. In Volume One, we meet him and ...

Or maybe it’s better that he doesn’t know that his son is the pure evil that killed his wife and daughter. And will Victor Creel get out of Pennhurst Asylum or will he die? So now we know that Vecna, One, and Henry Creel are the same entity. This perfectly explains why Vecna’s Upside Down spot is the Creel House. It is the place where he discovered his “purpose” and he can hang out there with his deadly spiders and gain strength from taking lives. The crew heads into the abandoned and dilapidated Creel House to gather some clues. But Henry Creel did not die in the hospital like Victor believes. Victor said he could feel the demon hiding in his home and cursing the town. After speaking with Victor, Nancy and Robin reunite with Steve, Max, Lucas, and Dustin. They eventually piece together that there must be a connection with Vecna and the Creel House. Of course, we know this house is in Hawkins so they can easily investigate. But we can safely assume that the final episodes will still mention and include him in some way, especially after big revelations about his family. We finally have some definitive answers about the Creel family, why Victor is in Pennhurst Asylum, and how the Creel House fits into all of this Vecna terror. He notes that Chrissy was killed in a similar way by someone who must be “pure evil.” Wayne believes that Victor Creel broke out of Pennhurst Asylum much like Michael Myers did in Halloween. With that expansion comes a host of new characters and separate storylines that will all converge in some way.
