'Won't entertain release': Broncos stand firm on Haas' future (NRL.COM)

Brisbane have responded to media speculation on Thursday afternoon that towering prop Payne Haas wants an immediate release from his playing contract.

Haas is currently contracted with Brisbane through to the end of the 2024 season after re-signing with the club in 2018 on a six-year deal. The Broncos released a statement on the future of Haas indicating the NSW and Australian representative won't be going anywhere in the short-term and the club had plans to keep him at the Broncos beyond the 2024 season. "Payne Haas is contracted to the Brisbane Broncos until the end of the 2024 NRL Season. The club will not be entertaining a release," the statement read.

The Broncos overcame a 20 point halftime deficit to stun the Titans 35-24 in a dramatic local derby at Suncorp Stadium.

The Brisbane Broncos produced a pulsating second half comeback to notch an epic 35-24 win over the Titans.
