“The “Andor” series will explore a new perspective from the Star Wars galaxy, focusing on Cassian Andor’s journey to discover the difference he can make. For one thing, it’s every bit as dark as Rogue One, showing us the not simply the Empire at the height of its power, but the inside of the Imperial Senate itself. But nothing prepared me for the sheer awesomeness of the show’s first trailer.

In "Rogue One," Andor died with Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones) on the Imperial planet of Scarif when the Death Star belched out a superlaser blast that leveled the Citadel Tower and surrounding beachhead.

Disney has just released a sneak peek for Andor, the upcoming Star Wars series focusing on the origins of Rogue One's Cassian Andor.

The show's official synopsis reads: "Andor, a tense nail-biting spy thriller created by Tony Gilroy, is set to arrive on Disney+ in 2022. Hats off to the cinematographers. It very much speaks to how when you take away the Jedi and the Sith, this intergalactic war is a battle between social classes.

We finally have our first full look at Star Wars: Andor. Here are all the story hints and easter eggs we spotted in the trailer for the new Disney+ series.

Finally, we see someone about to steal a TIE Fighter, but what the hell is up with the sky? We see at least one of these planets in the trailer, as Imperial soldiers arrive on transports that look a bit like upgraded versions of the Clone Wars-era LAATs the clone army flew into battle. As far as keeping the order goes, they’re clearly doing a bad job. Luna described Cassian’s story to Vanity Fair as “the journey of a migrant…That feeling of having to move is behind this story very profoundly, very strong. That’s about the extent of Diego Luna in this, but he does get to deliver the trailer’s best line: “They’re so proud of themselves, so fat and satisfied.” He’s likely referring to the Imperials, who we watch enjoying a leisurely drink as this line is delivered. Denise Gough (Under the Banner of Heaven) plays a particularly evil-looking Imperial officer. So is Skarsgård the Rebel talent scout? It looks like they’re headed to a village on the outskirts of a junkyard. It’s on this second world where much of the first season’s action takes place, according to Gilroy. Wonder what’s going down in the lower levels, though… Rogue One may have been the end of Cassian Andor’s story, but it won’t be the last time we see Diego Luna in Star Wars. A new, 12-episode Disney+ series called Andor will give us Cassian’s origin story. In the meantime, we finally have our first real look at this series.

He also joked, "The beauty of this show is there's no way they'll kill me," referencing Andor's sacrifice at the end of "Rogue One." The series will feature music by Nicholas Britell, who's best known for his work on "Succession." Season two — which Gilroy announced will go into production this fall — will cover the next four years and end with Andor just as he walks onto screen in "Rogue One."

Andor, created by Tony Gilroy, stars Diego Luna, reprising the role of rebel spy Cassian Andor from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story in a tale set five years prior to the events of the film. In addition, a new teaser trailer for the series made its debut, featuring the titular hero in action, as well as glimpses of the Empire and much more.
