'Star Wars' actor Ewan McGregor says that he struggled to get the voice for Obi-Wan Kenobi correct after a long gap from playing the role.

'I just had to go back and like watch lots of Alec Guinness movies and watch all the original films. 'In the airport, or something. It was really, it was really genuine fear,' McGregor said. 'I went to this dressing room, and there was this sort of Obi-Wan-esque costume, you know. 'But then I went on and I started reading with these other actors, and I totally didn't have his voice at all. I swear to god, I just about s*** my pants, really,' McGregor said.

Ahead of the arrival of 'Obi-Wan Kenobi,' Ewan McGregor opened up about how terrified he was when he first acted opposite Hayden Christensen as Darth Vader.

“They went, ‘Action!’ And I’m walking down and I hear something, I turn around, to fucking Vader’s coming at me,” he said with a laugh. “So we spent a lot of time on set and we had a lot of fight training to do. And I've been acting a long time, I think I’ve done a lot of stuff, but the first take with Darth Vader scared the shit out of me.

McGregor had recently recalled a similar experience while shooting with Stormtroopers on the set of Obi-Wan Kenobi. However, that encounter wouldn't hold a candle to the tall and imposing figure of Vader. McGregor's reaction is quite apt given the intimidating look and sinister nature of the character. Now, during his recent appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, McGregor disclosed his "frightening" experience on set when filming his first scene with Darth Vader. He pointed out that he "hadn't acted" with Vader before in the prequel trilogy and even revealed that his co-star Christensen "didn't have the helmet on" during rehearsals. Nevertheless, the surprising fact that he never interacted with a suited-up Vader before the Obi-Wan Kenobi series makes his fearful reaction to his appearance quite understandable. McGregor mentioned that as soon as filming for the scene began, he was taken aback and felt "genuine fear" during his first interaction with the iconic villain. The story revolves around the titular Jedi master as he lives a solitary life in exile on Tattooine. When Darth Vader sets up a program to hunt down the last remaining Jedi after Order 66, Kenobi is forced to leave Tattoine and embark on an adventure. However, the onscreen reunion of McGregor and Christensen is what has Star Wars fans excited the most.

Finally, things worked out, as McGregor explained, “I just had to go back and like watch lots of Alec Guinness movies and watch all the original films. “I went to this dressing room, and there was this sort of Obi-Wan-esque costume, you know. I swear to God, I just about s**t my pants, really,” McGregor said.

The actor, 51, and his new wife, 37, proved they were quite the stylish pair as they stepped out in the city's Soho area on Tuesday.

Of course, for many Star Wars fans, there is one thing that they will be waiting to see in Obi-Wan Kenobi; the rematch between Kenobi and Vader has been promised from the moment the series was officially announced. Obi-Wan Kenobi will pick up ten years after the events of Revenge of the Sith, with Kenobi in exile and on the run from Darth Vader’s Inquisitors. While there have been many teases about cameos, plenty of action and that all-important face-off between Kenobi and Vader, there is still very little known about the actual plot of the series, which is obviously just how Disney wants it. Of course, Guinness played Kenobi in the original Star Wars, so the new series bridges the gap between the prequel and original trilogies.
