Premier Mark McGowan continues to resist calls for fresh restrictions as he hopes WA will hit its COVID peak before the height of the flu season.

Other people might say, OK, mask back on for the supermarket." There is a little bit of responsibility that lies with us," she said. "There are ways we monitor what's happening in the population, but we need to feed that back to people so that they have the information," she said. "Carry a couple of masks. "Those who are able to take the flu vaccine should go ahead and take the flu vaccine." "We could be in the heart of the flu season in July."

Why would a mainstream political party be talking about that? Several reporters followed Albanese out of the area, voicing further questions. I’ve seen him present on things, I don’t really pick up there’s much there. At one of his press conferences with Albanese in Perth last week, McGowan lashed Dutton for his rhetoric about a Chinese spy ship off the coast of WA, calling the then defence minister “the biggest threat to national security”. He also hit out at subsequent reporting that Albanese had “fled” the press conference, calling it “lies” and “lying”. In an ABC Melbourne interview that same day, Albanese said “some of the campaign, frankly, has been for some of the journalists, dare I say it, more about them than about information and about policies”.
