IPL 2022, LSG vs KKR: I should probably get paid more for games ... (DNA India)

Lucknow Super Giants skipper KL Rahul feels that his team could have ended on the losing side during the thrilling clash against Kolkata Knight Riders.

"For Stoinis to execute those plans in the last two balls to get us the win, was brilliant. The minute we went away from the plans was when it became easier for the batters. Good way to finish the last game of the league season. The only talk during timeouts was to back your best balls. Haven't been many games that have gone down to the last ball, maybe some which went to the last over. Could easily have been on the losing side and have gone back home thinking we lost due to some poor cricket.

Here are the major talking points from the IPL 2022 clash between Lucknow Super Giants and Kolkata Knight Riders played at the DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai on ...

A pitch that was harsh on the bowlers, the pacers to be precise, Mohsin stood out with a stunning economy of 5. From a hopeless situation, he brought his team back from the dead. For his third victim though, with the old ball, he had some help from his fellow pacer Avesh Khan who frustrated Andre Russell with four dot balls in a row before an off-cutter from Mohsin put an end to his struggle. A dejected Rinku took a long way back to the dug-out. And was smoked for four sixes in a row. He glanced, crunched, pulled and hoicked his way to two fours and four sixes bringing his team within the touching distance. They didn’t go hammers and tongs in the Powerplay but whenever the chance was presented, boundaries were scored. His electrifying innings came to an end thanks to an equally stunning one-handed screamer from Evin Lewis in the deep. He produced a breathtaking knock, one of the finest in IPL history. Lucknow Super Giants and Kolkata Knight Riders produced a T20 classic on Wednesday during their second meeting in IPL 2022. De Kock was in the zone. LSG’s opening pair of KL Rahul and De Kock came in to bat with a plan.

Heart goes out to Rinku Singh who played splendidly and got out to hell of a good catch. That’s the beauty of this game. This is cricket my friend! De Kock hit an unbeaten 140 off 70 balls while Rahul smashed 68 not out to help Lucknow post a massive 210 runs on the board in 20 overs. It was also the first occasion that openers remained undefeated after a team batted first and completed 20 overs. Rinku Singh almost sealed the deal for the two-time champions with a blistering 15-ball 40 run knock, but a screamer by Evin Lewis on the fifth ball of the final over bowled by Marcus Stoinis ended Rinku’s innings as LSG managed to beat the Knight Riders by two runs only.

LSG vs KKR: Fans claim Stoinis' bowled a no-ball on Rinku's wicket ... (Republic World)

Marcus Stoinis played a vital role in Lucknow's victory as he picked two back-to-back wickets in the final over to help his side win the game.

According to the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC), the custodian of cricket laws, if the foot of the bowler lands beyond the crease then it is a no-ball. They posted a video of Stoinis' penultimate delivery, in which the all-rounder appears to have put his front foot outside the crease. Stoinis' foot looks to have landed behind the crease and subsequently slid beyond, which is not a no-ball situation. Stoinis dismissed Rinku Singh in the penultimate ball of his over when Kolkata needed 3 runs to win off 2 balls. However, upon closer inspection of the video on the IPL's official website, it is evident that Stoinis' delivery was not a no-ball. Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) beat Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in their last game of the IPL 2022 league stage to become the second franchise to qualify for the playoffs.
