If confirmed, those figures exceed Brady’s annual salary with the Buccaneers, which last year came in at around $30 million. Another former Cowboys quarterback, Tony Romo, has forged a successful commentary career with CBS, signing a new deal with the network in 2020 which will pay around $17 million a year. American football icon Tom Brady will move into the television commentary booth when he finally calls time on his NFL career after agreeing a deal with Fox Sports on Tuesday reportedly worth a record-shattering $375 million ($540m) over 10 years.

The seven-time Super Bowl winner will join Fox as its lead analyst when he retires after signing a long-term deal with the network.

The 44-year-old Brady said in a Tweet he was “excited” about joining Fox but that there was “a lot of unfinished business on the field with the Buccaneers”. Brady ended a brief retirement in March when he said he would return to the Bucs for a 23rd NFL season 40 days after calling time on an age-defying career during which he established himself as arguably the greatest player in the sport’s history. The long-term agreement has Brady calling games with play-by-play announcer Kevin Burkhardt and serving as an ambassador for the network, particularly with respect to client and promotional initiatives, the network said in a tweet.

FOX announces impressive post-retirement gig for Tom Brady (Musket Fire)

FOX Sports confirmed on an earnings call that New England Patriots legend Tom Brady has a spot as an NFL analyst lined up for him whenever he retires.

It would feel weird to see Brady selling NFTs and remaining disconnected from the sport he loves. Given the ratings success Romo has been, grabbing star quarterbacks out of retirement might be the formula moving forward. Even though he is coming back to the league for one more year, retirement can’t be too far around the corner.

Brady nearly rallied Tampa Bay to victory in last season's divisional-round playoff loss to the Los Angeles Rams, helping the Buccaneers overcome a 27-3 second-half deficit before Rams kicker Matt Gay booted a 30-yard field goal as time expired to win 30-27. Now all he has to do is stay retired. In his first season in Tampa Bay, Brady led the Buccaneers to a Super Bowl victory at their home stadium.

Tom Brady will swap the football field for the Fox Sports television studio when he retires from the NFL.

“Excited, but a lot of unfinished business on the field with the @Buccaneers,” Brady wrote on Twitter. The 44-year-old quarterback holds nearly every significant passing record in the NFL and won six Super Bowls during his two-decade career with the New England Patriots. Brady said on Tuesday that he has no immediate plans to end his playing career.

Tom Brady's absurd contract details with FOX Sports revealed (Musket Fire)

New England Patriots legend Tom Brady is making an absurd amount of money with FOX Sports for his post-career broadcasting gig.

Tony Romo and Troy Aikman’s “massive” deals with CBS and ESPN have now been lapped; combined, the two men still make less annually than Brady will whenever he joins the workforce. After years of taking discounts with the Patriots so Bill Belichick could improve the roster elsewhere, clearly Brady no longer cares about the potential effects on FOX’s payroll if he absorbs most of it with a megalith deal. TB12 has accepted a job as FOX’s lead NFL analyst alongside their top game-caller Kevin Burkhardt. And he’s apparently so interested in the position that he’s chosen to work for free!

Tom Brady's historic $375m Fox Sports deal shows familiarity ... (The Guardian)

The quarterback has the knowledge to make a good analyst. But it's his fame and branding the network is most interested in.

Brady has no contemporary in the media space, save, perhaps, for Peyton Manning. He is the most famous celebrity the game has produced, one of the few who crosses continents and sports. Outside of the Patriots cult of no-personality, Brady has bared his teeth a little and has made his personality more public. Some shill copper bands or the Itch Stopper. Brady will stay selling Football and Sundays – and will be paid like Russell Wilson to do so. And then it offered around a package to any of the advert-getting names in the business, settling on college football’s premier voice because of his Q Score. He is also the most important and impactful player of the last 20 years. Even as companies and sports scramble to try to replicate the success of the ManningCast, it will still serve as the second or third option. It’s a neat side project, something to show the cool kids on social media that you’re trying to be different. It chose not to take any risks, either to break the traditional construct of an in-game booth or to build around fresh names. Would the Gusgasm, in all its viral glory, not be at the top of your wants list? The game is the attraction, the announcers just help elevate or deflate the atmosphere. Hiring famous people does not necessarily help or improve the broadcast – often it does the opposite. The New York Post reported that Brady is in line to receive $375m across 10 years.
