Eight weeks ago, Channing contracted COVID-19 and had to visit St Vincent’s Hospital in Sydney, according to his last post on Instagram. A friend of Channing’s told The Daily Telegraph he had been “battling health issues” for some time. Thorpe was the face of Mardi Gras in 2016 and he and Channing campaigned together for the “yes” campaign during the marriage equality plebiscite in the same year. Channing was based in Sydney but had been filming a Netflix docuseries in LA about the global expansion of the skincare company he founded in 2016.
