NRL star Brett Finch was charged as part of a major investigation into child abuse pictured reporting to police in Sydney in December. Finch was initially charged with five counts of using a carriage service to transmit, publish or promote child abuse material in December 2021 as part of the NSW Police Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad Strike Force Hank investigation. It is alleged that Finch had used a gay adult hotline that was a front for men to take part in a child sex abuse chat group and share illicit material.
