Heropanti 2 starring Tiger Shroff, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Tara Sutaria released yesterday. It has failed to live upto its expectations.
As per early trends flowing in, Heropanti 2 made 6.50-8 crores on its day 1, which is not up to the mark. Bollywood is searching for that one right film that would do dhamaka at the box office and a lot has been expected from two new Eid releases. Heropanti 2 starring Tiger Shroff, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Tara Sutaria released yesterday.
Heropanti 2 review: This film has no plot. It's basically a series of set pieces featuring Tiger Shroff prancing, romancing, and dancing, when he is not ...
As the campy, kohl-rimmed, lipsticked Laila, Nawaz is full-on, embracing the silliness of his role to match the tone of the movie. Even going by the low standards of leading ladies in such movies, Inaya touches a new low with the gutter language she is made to spout: how is it even admissible in a film meant to be family-friendly? And this time around, he has gone global, ranging from Yorkshire, to Egypt, to China, to Varanasi. But not even the super-agile Tiger can leapfrog over a worn, moth-eaten storyline which involves one number loving mother (Amrita Singh), mandatory romantic interest, Inaya (Tara Sutaria), and the extremely evil Laila (Nawazuddin Siddiqui) and his multi-national, multi-racial cohorts.
At ticket windows, the film is about to tank badly and KGF Chapter 2 will make sure it doesn't even see a ray of hope.
The film has lost a golden opportunity of rocking the ticket windows on Eid, giving a full benefit to ‘monster’ KGF Chapter 2. The reality of such hyped-up reports is really disturbing and it isn’t getting any better thanks to the absolutely crap content of the film. So till the time the Heropanti sequel was slated to arrive, all the initial excitement went down to the bottom level.
The storyline is such that we end up laughing at the film in every kind of sequence! Take the hero's mom (Amrita Singh) pleading (!) to the river Ganga in ...
The camerawork is of high standard (Kabir Lal) in general, the VFX okay. In the end, it is the audience that shows true heropanti (heroism)! The action sequences include multiple explosions everywhere, destructions of expensive sets and props, a car entering a speeding locomotive (!!) and car crashes that will make Rohit Shetty snigger at the unfunny senselessness of it all. Babloo is a hacker and Laila, with his gang of cohorts whom he keeps in strict control with fear, plans to loot India through various Apps he has designed for men, women and children that will access details of every Indian’s bank accounts on March 31, the financial year-ending date, and get him all their money!! Take the hero’s mom (Amrita Singh) pleading (!) to the river Ganga in Benares to look after her son’s well-being as Thames, the river back home in England, cannot be invoked! In fact, with overlong and absurd action, plastic emotions and horrendous songs permeating the narrative, to sit through its 2.20-plus length is a true feat!
Heropanti 2 review: Tiger Shroff's action skills and a usually brilliant Nawazuddin Siddiqui are wasted in this senseless, headache of a movie.
And of course, musical renditions from AR Rahman, which might appear to be a misfit in the film, but bring some calm amid this noisy storm. Because the director is also a professional choreographer, we get to see some extensive and elaborately-choreographed dance numbers. Heropanti 2 is the sequel to Tiger’s debut film Heropanti (2014) that was directed by Sabbir Khan and somewhat showed the actor’s potential as a promising action hero who could also dance well. Even if you wish to pass Heropanti 2 as a typical potboiler with masala, action, romance, dance, it falters at so many levels. In the process, Babloo falls for Laila’s sister Inaaya (Tara Sutaria), who, for the longest time remains oblivious to his brother or boyfriend’s ill intentions. Lazy writing, poor execution and ridiculous characters — it just goes from bad to worse.
As the headache given by Tiger Shroff's "Heropanti 2"will subside, you'll finally realize how tough it is to make a good film.
Why waste it on movies with bloated narratives like “Baaghi 3 (2020)”, “Student of the Year 2 (2019)”, and “Munna Michael (2017)”? Just replicate the work in “War (2019).” Scale the scope down, if necessary, but not the craft. In conclusion, please don’t watch “Heropanti 2” if you’re not in the mood to appreciate filmmaking. If you’re lucky, you’ll get to see the same actor play a different character with the same name as the one in the original, which in this case is Babloo (Tiger Shroff). If you’re not lucky, well, you’ll see a sequel where the character you fell in love with in the original has a different face. In addition to that, they waste the absolute unit of a man, and that’s Tiger Shroff. If you are, please do watch “Heropanti 2”. Because once you are done, and the headache given by the movie subsides, you’ll realize how tough it is to make a good film. You can see for yourself that the producer has given the filmmakers the money to pull off some of the most absurd stunts and fill the screen with so many stunt performers. The first question that’ll probably cross your mind after reading “Heropanti 2” is whether it has anything to do with “Heropanti (2014)”. The answer to that is, “no, it doesn’t.” This is a Bollywood film. He also gets a job as Inaaya’s (Tara Sutaria) driver, who is a game developer or the head of a gaming company. Why is it so difficult to bear “Heropanti 2”? It’s easy to say that the cinematography, the editing, the ADR dialogue recording, or the performances are bad. RJ (It’s still Tiger Shroff) lives with his mother (Amrita Singh), who thinks he is the most innocent person in the world but is always down on his luck. But the problem with that process is that watching too much of a good thing can lead to you taking it for granted. The sane way to appreciate films is by watching good movies.

Tiger’s skill and dedication is to the point, all he needs is a strong screenplay for the superb action star in him to soar.
