They weren't going to muck around with this one that's for sure. Ahmad was the brother of slain underworld figure Walid "Wally" Ahmad, who was killed outside a Bankstown shopping centre in 2016. "The last thing we want is someone to be shot down on the street in a hail of bullets," he said. "He's been warned in the past he was a marked man and as a result he didn't heed those words ... he was going about his normal business without a care in the world," he said. Police said more than one person was waiting for Ahmad to leave the Narelle Crescent house, before a "hail of bullets" was fired from a car.

"Obviously the intention was to kill him and they were going to do that by firing as many bullets at him as they could, and they were successful in their intention," he said. "There's a long list of persons of interest and suspects who may have been involved in this shooting murder, this was an incredibly brazen, callous murder, where multiple shots were fired at Ahmad and resulted in his death." "His life was always in danger, he was always going to be a victim of circumstances, he was either going to end up on a slab in the morgue or back in jail in a cell," Detective Superintendent Doherty said.

Police responded about 9.30pm on Wednesday to reports a man had been shot at Narelle Crescent in Greenacre.
