- Aside from the prison escape, will Billy also face repercussions for stealing the rancher’s cattle? That’s good news since it means that Billy the Kid can do basically anything with the character.) - Billy’s obvious first port of call will be Jesse, but based on the above, it seems that relationship will be threatened by love. - Judging by the above and what we’ve seen thus far, I think it’s here that we will see Billy’s outlaw career begin in earnest. - Billy the Kid season 1, episode 8, “The Rampage”, will release on June 5, 2022. - Billy the Kid season 1, episode 4, “Interlude”, will release on May 1, 2022.
EPIX is releasing a series on the iconic character Billy the Kid. We sat down with Tom Blyth, Daniel Webber and Eileen O'Higgins to talk about the series.
Eileen O’Higgins: When I read the script, and we read the scenes, and the compassion of the character and the relationship that she had between like, her sons and her husband, potty, and his illness and things like when I first auditioned for the party just had the first episode. There’s a photo of him with two other cowboys and out of the three of them, he’s kind of dirty. You pick up so much that, maybe this is projection, but like there’s a sense of humor and a certain charisma and confidence in just a simple photograph of a person and that’s definitely what I got from looking at some of the images that we have left of Jesse. So you take what you can with stories like this and then fill in the blanks. I mean, that yeah, the minute it looked like it was gonna be possible for you to play the character as I kind of started down the road of, of kind of, yeah, my conversation with Billy, I didn’t watch any of their performances, specifically. Blyth is INCREDIBLE in the role and I hope we get to see him explore this role more in the future. It’s a slippery slope, especially because as an actor, you’re you put yourself in a place of absorption, and you put yourself in a place where you’re kind of trying to, you know, you’re mimicking, and you’re and you’re parroting, and you’re trying to absorb all these qualities.
With the premiere of Billy the Kid on April 24, 2022, on Epix, all eyes will be on the young star of the show, Tom Blyth.
It is still too early to talk about the show, but in a few weeks, everyone will perhaps know Tom Blyth. He put in months of hard work and connected well with the historical figure. He went on to star in several short films over the years, including Wash Club, Fibs, and Party Clown, among others.
British actor Tom Blythe seems perfect for the young criminal and the first episode of the season, "The Immigrants," really kicked things off well. We first met ...
Tom Blyth & Eileen O'Higgins, the stars of Billy the Kid, break down the surprising humanity at the heart of the Epix Western series.
What I didn't expect, what surprised me, I think, is the level of multiplicity that Billy has. The fact that it was reading to me more like a drama that was contemporary than necessarily something that was far away. So regardless, it's a character that is full of hope and optimism even in the face of death or what seems like despair. He's one of the great historical writers in modern film. He's full of nuance, both the real-life character and the one that Michael has written. Billy the Kid is the latest attempt to dramatize the life of the infamous Old West outlaw.
