The disgraced former mayor of New York City performed 'Bad to the Bone' on 'The Masked Singer' — no kidding.
“The Masked Singer” is a show that tends to find in the worst sort of performances a sort of human redemption, and fun freewheelingness that allows us to be impressed a non-singer tried; Giuliani’s humiliation ought to be met with the public denying him any more attention after today. It is frustrating to be reminded that for some, everything is a joke; the casting of Giuliani here seems less an ideological statement of his worthiness and more than his potential resurfacing would be as quirky and interesting as a comeback for the 1990s chanteuse Jewel, who won the last “Masked Singer.” Treating Giuliani as a plaything for our culture, albeit one who has made some controversial choices, is not a matter of policy disagreement, or of being a bit too grave about the lighter side of the news. Even those who were Giuliani skeptics or critics in past eras of his career can acknowledge that this is a particularly sad ending for the mayor who led New York City on September 11, 2001 — although Giuliani attempted to put a positive spin on his appearance by saying it was intended to inspire his baby granddaughter to take risks. And he worked to place illegitimate electors in place to cast votes on behalf of seven states Trump lost, all in an effort to subvert the will of the people. (The judges’ guesses as to Giuliani’s identity had been Robert Duvall, Elon Musk, and Joe Pesci, all more credibly part of the world of entertainment.) While it’s not unprecedented for this show and others like it to feature political figures, Giuliani’s role in the attempt to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election would certainly seem disqualifying. There was little suggestion of who he was — indeed, the package of hints the show provides focused on the random and tangential fact that Giuliani has performed weddings with frequency.
The reaction on the show to the man who helped Trump spread his baseless claim that the 2020 presidential election was stolen was an interesting one. There were ...
“I get put in a box a lot,” Giuliani said. McCarthy thanked Giuliani for appearing – apparently doing the show for his granddaughter – and said she was “so glad” he appeared. Fellow judge Nicole Scherzinger looked confused and asked Jeong, “Is that Robert Duvall?” a reference to Thicke’s earlier guess.
"I'm done," 'Masked Singer' judge Ken Jeong declared as Rudy Giuliani sang "Bad to the Bone."
And the Masked Singer producers and Fox felt they wanted to be a part of the laundering process for him.” In February, The Hollywood Reporter television critic Daniel Fienberg published an essay entitled Rudy Giuliani on ‘The Masked Singer’ Is a New Low for TV Image Laundering, and wrote, in part, “The Masked Singer booked a man who has been the public face of an unsuccessful attempt to overturn a democratic election.” Fienberg continued, “There is a narrative of very active disgrace tied to Giuliani, not past-tense disgrace. The politician replied, “Me too!” before explaining, “I guess the main reason is, I just had a granddaughter Grace, and I want her to know that you should try everything, even things that are completely unlike you and unlikely.”
“Is that Robert Duvall?” judge Jenny McCarthy exclaimed when Giuliani was unmasked, after he was deemed the least talented singer of the group following a ...
“That was once a really elite show, where it could be competing for Emmys. But as soon as you start it up with these stunts, it feels desperate. “And people tend to want to jump off a sinking boat.” “Your family’s going to love this!” Scherzinger said. When news first broke via Deadline about Giuliani’s appearance, there was instant backlash from people who were furious that the disbarred lawyer was being given a chance to further his time in the spotlight or try to redeem his reputation through reality television. Former Trump White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci also appeared on “Celebrity Big Brother.” Last year, senior adviser Kellyanne Conway made a cameo on ABC’s “American Idol” to support her daughter Claudia’s audition. This kind of moment felt inevitable for “The Masked Singer,” a reliable place for chaos since it debuted in January 2019. There’s great risk involved — so you might experience a temporary high, but what’s the cost?” “You don’t get publicity for being safe and predictable and nice. But as with most TV shows, ratings have dropped: The first season averaged about 12 million viewers an episode, including delayed viewing, and the numbers are now closer to around 5 million. And I enjoy the show, I have for years, and it just seemed like it would be fun. “I’m done,” he said, walking offstage before Giuliani was finished singing. As he launched into another rendition of the song, McCarthy and Scherzinger happily danced around.

I’ll break a thousand more, baby, before I am through,” the thrice-divorced former New York City mayor squawked. “I just had a granddaughter, Grace, and I want her to know that you should try everything, even the things that are completely unlike you and unlikely — and I can’t think of anything more unlike me and unlikely than this,” Giuliani explained. Like Trump, he suggested the certification of Biden's victory was an existential crisis for the country and used rhetoric that alluded to violence. His speech came after dozens of judges — including the U.S. Supreme Court, with three Trump nominees — rejected every significant claim of alleged voter fraud brought by Giuliani and other lawyers. Powell was eventually removed from the team after she said in an interview she was going to release 'the kraken' of lawsuits. Giuliani even appeared in a Pennsylvania courtroom for the first time in nearly three decades to argue an election case. It was the beginning of a pressure campaign to allot electoral votes in battleground states where Biden won over to Trump instead. More than a year later, there still is no evidence of criminality. But he also found himself personally entangled in Trump's own political and legal woes. The lawsuits were soundly batted down in the courts, sometimes within days of filing. The others who were subpoenaed did not respond to messages seeking comment. More than 50 lawsuits were filed, mostly in battleground states. Nicole Scherzinger and Jenny McCarthy were seen dancing after Jeong stormed off. Giuliani said he had long been a fan of the show and that he thought it would be fun to appear, saying: 'I don't get to have a lot of fun'
Perhaps even more embarrassing than Giuliani's decision to appear on the show is the show's decision to have him as a guest. “Associate attorney general! Former ...

And so the big, wet president—wetter than ever, if yesterday's interview with Piers Morgan was anything to go by—and his wet lawyer will return to the mountaintop, ready to serve the public interest in the happy circumstances where it's downstream from their personal interests. In a couple years' time, if Trump is headed towards the Republican presidential nomination, these people who thought he should be defenestrated from office using the 25th Amendment will all line up to say how much they support him and how great he is. Turns out that the Republican leaders in both the House and Senate found Donald Trump entirely responsible and considered it likely bordering-on-inevitable that he would be thrown out of office for his completely obvious crimes against the American experiment. They just folded, because they're afraid of their own Base—and, in McConnell's case, because he wanted to win the Georgia runoffs. You throw your political opponents in jail—as Trump began pledging to do in 2016, and which reached a fever pitch among him and his allies in 2020—and go all Hungary on the American republic. And then, by February 13, he'd voted to acquit Trump in the impeachment trial. Giuliani followed that up by leading Trump's efforts to throw out the results of an election he lost and install him in power for another term in contravention of the expressed will of the American people. That was also before Russia fully invaded Ukraine—they'd invaded via proxy force years earlier—and the mountainous depravity of Giuliani's behavior towards Ukraine and Zelensky was laid bare to more casual observers. Trump's first impeachment was about him denying Ukraine aid to defend itself against Russia, aid that we're now seeing they very much needed.) But this taping was not before Giuliani led a multi-month effort to overturn the results of an American election, culminating with a speech on January 6 where TAFKAAM told a rally crowd that what we needed was a "trial by combat." The Russians say we are a decadent and depraved society and maybe they've got a point, though I'm not sure they sized us up as "terminally stupid." OMG! It's the guy who scumbagged Ukraine and tried to shitcan American democracy! So naturally, Fox thought he'd be fun to have on The Masked Singer. What's a little autogolpe between friends?
Judges Ken Jeong and Robin Thicke are said to have left the stage in protest. There are now pictures. The aforementioned episode aired on Fox's American TV on ...
The lawyer will also be there during Trump’s presidency mysterious relationships It is kept in Ukraine. To the “too bad to the bone” tunes of George Thoroughgood and the Destroyers — “I’m here to tell you, honey, I’m bad to the bone” — Giuliani gives one last shot. At the beginning of the new season of the American version of disguised singer had already leaked That Rudy Giuliani’s participation caused panic in the group. It disappears in the wings. Giuliani was suspended from practicing law in New York last year when a court found that he had made “demonstrably false” statements about Trump’s 2020 election loss. And I enjoy the show. Originally reported in February, the episode April 20 that led to judge Ken Jeong walking off set.

Another pro-Giuliani commenter wrote: “So, KEN JEONG walked off of the Masked Singer screaming ‘He should be in prison!’ when Rudy Giuliani was unveiled. Not everyone on social media was upset, including a Twitter user who wrote: “Oh, haha. Seriously, the guy who helped our worst president pull off the insurrection is on a TV show?!” “Well, not necessarily Ken Jeong, who walked off-set upon the big reveal after saying, ‘I’m done.’” Deadline has reported that during the taping, one of the show’s panelists, Ken Jeong, walked off the stage in protest when Giuliani’s mask was removed. The former New York mayor has had his law license suspended in a New York court proceeding.
Shortly after Giuliani revealed himself to be the “Jack in the Box," judge Ken Jeong said “I'm done” and walked off set.
In 2020, he made an unforgettable appearance in Borat 2, sticking his hands down his pants in a hotel room with what he believed to be a young female journalist, played by Maria Bakalova. While Giuliani claimed his Borat 2 cameo was nothing more than “ a complete fabrication,” like his regrettable stint on The Masked Singer, it was caught on-camera—forever saved for posterity's sake. Deadline first reported in February that Giuliani would be appearing on Fox's hit competition show, declining to reveal which contestant he was in order to maintain the “integrity” of the show. Rudy Giuliani may have been temporarily banned from practicing law in the state of New York, but, unfortunately, he has yet to be banned from singing on national television.

I don’t get to have a lot of fun.” He’ll probably have even less fun if/when his federal criminal investigation lands him in jail. Of all the messed-up things that have ever popped out of a jack-in-the-box, disgraced former mayor of New York Rudy Giuliani is by far the scariest. “Well, Mr. Giuliani, with all of the controversy that’s surrounding you right now,” says Cannon in a large understatement, “I think it surprises us all that you’re here on The Masked Singer.” Giuliani says he did the show because “it seemed like it would be fun.

Judge Ken Jeong has been praised by fans of the show for his reaction to Rudy Giuliani appearing on the singing competition.
The place where he pushed the conspiracy theories about the election that have poisoned our politics forever is just a fun clue on a fun show because nothing matters.” But if we’re right, and a lot of them will go to jail. And if we’re wrong, we will be made fools of. She’s too old for you.” Prior to the mob of Trump supporters storming the US Capitol on 6 January 2021, a “Save America” rally was held earlier in the day during which Giuliani game a speech in which he called for a “trial by combat” whilst pushing the conspiracy theory that the election was “stolen” from Trump by voter fraud. I have for years.
