'Elden Ring's latest update brings huge magic buffs and more ... (Inverse)

The latest 'Elden Ring' 1.04 patch overhauls a lot of the game's weaker weapons and spells.

Once again, most of the changes were made to Weapon Skills that were previously underused, so you’ll have far more options at your disposal. While many Spells have become more powerful as part of the 1.04 patch, Swarm of Flies is one of the few that has received a nerf—and thankfully so, because it was grossly overpowered. Along with Spells, a slew of Weapon Skills have been improved. These are spells like Briars of Punishment—which received decreased recovery time and increased blood loss buildup—along with a slew of other improvements to the likes of Burn, O Flame!, Crystal Barrage, Rock Blaster, and dozens more. Many of the buffed spells now have faster cast speed or decreased recovery time, making them much more effective. FromSoftware has dropped a massive Elden Ring update, featuring countless weapon changes, Spell alterations, and bug fixes to the wildly popular RPG. This update, patch 1.04, is a major one, bringing many of the game’s underappreciated armaments, Sorceries, and Skills to the limelight.

Elden Ring Patch Patches Patches (Kotaku)

FromSoftware's game-hopping mascot now shows you how to squat just like him.

Opening the arena’s conspicuously placed chest will prompt Patches to ambush you again, but this time around, he quickly recognizes you and surrenders to avoid another ass-beating. I guess the dimension-hopping jerk still had some fight left in him after all. Intel Core i5-10300H

Elden Ring patch fixes Bleed Dogs and mysterious fake walls (Polygon)

FromSoftware released a new patch for the open-world RPG Elden Ring. The new update fixes the broken Bleed Dogs as well as the illusory wall in Volcano ...

So it appears that the illusory, but destructible, walls were just a clever way for the developers to hide an unwanted room and not a doorway to bigger secrets. At first, players weren’t sure if developers were using it to hide secrets, or if it was just a bug. YouTuber Zullie the Witch test drove the patch on Tuesday, and found that the over-powered Rotten Stray dogs weren’t as tough as prior incarnations.
