Stranger Things season four with its brand new villain will receive a global release exclusively on Netflix. Consisting of nine episodes the season will be released in two volumes starting on May 27th. The story begins six months after the destructive Battle of Starcourt shook the sleepy town of Hawkins to its core. The Stranger Things season 4 villain will be known as Vecna, and they’re promising big things. The fourth season of Stranger Things will set the stage for the series’ curtain call at the end of season five. According to our trusted and proven insider, just like Eleven, the new Stranger Things villain started out as one of the children being experimented on at Hawkins National Laboratory. Vecna was Number One. As our source explained, the lab sent the child into the Upside Down, where he or she was transformed into a spider-like monster with the ability to entrance its victims before killing them. And in true Stranger Things style, the creature’s name originates comes from a Dungeons & Dragons lore character.
The Journey-infused trailer will get you hyped for season 4 of the hit Netflix series about 1980s kids struggling with the supernatural.
One of the teasers showcased the Creel House, complete with clock. On Tuesday, a trailer for the new season dropped. Part 1 of that season comes to Netflix on May 27, with the second half arriving July 1.
Stranger Things' first season 4 trailer reveals how life is about to change for Eleven, Joyce, and Hopper in Volume 1 of the next chapter.
While Stranger Things has explored the larger world outside of Hawkins, Indiana, in the past, the show’s fourth season is set to switch things up by splitting its story across a handful of disparate, important locations. Though the story will presumably return to the Upside Down and catch up with Jim Hopper in Russia, Stranger Things’ first season four trailer makes clear that a significant part of its next chapter will unfold in California, where Joyce and the rest of the Byers family have moved. Even though we’ve seen a few teasers of Stranger Things’ upcoming fourth season, none of them really let on just how much larger and epic in scope this next chapter seems like it’s going to be.
It's been nearly three long years since we last saw Eleven, Mike, Lucas, Dustin, Steve, Will, Hopper, Nancy, Jonathan, Joyce, and any Stranger Things kids ...

Eleven is pulled back into the “eye of the storm” along with everyone else. Meanwhile, Max (Sadie Sink) is mourning her brother’s death, and at one point is levitating in the trailer.

Meanwhile, Max’s (Sadie Sink) brother Billy (Dacre Montgomery) gets possessed by a creature from the Upside Down who attempted to eat most of Hawkins’ residents, but was ultimately defeated by the gang. After all the action goes down, The Byers family, along with Eleven, move to a new town, separating the main cast of the series and setting up for this new season to jump between lots of different places to tell the story. The trailer also makes it clear that this season is going for a more classic horror-movie vibe, complete with an eerie haunted house the kids will have to explore.

Looking for more details on Stranger Things Season 4? Thanks to the first official Stranger Things Season 4 trailer, we finally know the answer. We still don’t know how Hopper survived the Upside Down or why he ended up in Russia, but those details will likely be revealed in Stranger Things Season 4.
Our heroes in Hawkins are worlds apart and the Stranger Things season 4 trailer shows how they'll come back together.
Considered one of the most iconic villains in the game, Vecna was a powerful wizard who became a lich (undead creature). Through many editions of D&D continuity Vecna has appeared as a fearsome foe, even ascending to Godhood at one point. What would a Stranger Things trailer be without our old friend, the Demogorgon? After serving as the big bad in season 1, this flower-headed freak became more of a miniboss in season 2 and 3. It now says “William Hargrove” instead of “Billy Hargrove.” (Can anyone remember a single time Billy was referred to as “William” on this show?) Could the alternate tombstone mean that we’re actually getting a glimpse into a parallel universe, one where Max suddenly has powers? But perhaps he was subjected to unimaginable Lovecraftian horrors and it was really those horrors that killed the Creels in the first place. In the context of season 4, it would appear that bored Russian soldiers make their Siberian prisoners battle the (or “a”) Demogorgon for their own amusement. Getting an American citizen from deep in the Siberian tundra to the Midwestern USA at the height of the Cold War has to be one hell of a logistical challenge. Perhaps now is a good time to mention the song in this trailer is “Separate Ways (Worlds Apart)” by Journey. That’s fitting given the scattered nature of the show’s characters going into the season. At one point, the clock is embedded into the wall of a hallway (likely in Hawkins High School) and appears to be bursting forth from the Upside Down itself. Eventually the Creel family patriarch Victor (played by Robert Englund) lost his mind and murdered his whole family in cold blood. The narration in this trailer makes it clear that the shadowy powers-that-be in the U.S. need help from the whole Hawkins team, Hopper included, to confront a new threat. First introduced as a devastatingly handsome bully in season 2, Billy became a full-on supervillain in season 3 when the Mind Flayer took over his body. The trailer opens with a helpful reminder of how season 3 ended.

A big bad villain has arrived in the Stranger Things season 4 trailer — or is it two big bads?
In fact, it looks like the first (and possibly last) of the creepy forces from the The Upside Down that will give the kids and their trusted elders a true test. This would all tie together for a view of seasons 4 and 5 as a two-parter if one of these monsters is to be stopped in each season. While there's no schedule for when we'll get that season, this Stranger Things season 4 trailer gives us a lot of reason to believe this and next season are going to be more tightly connected than before. In this most vulnerable time, a new and horrifying supernatural threat surfaces, presenting a gruesome mystery that, if solved, might finally put an end to the horrors of the Upside Down." The lab at the end of the season 3 finale is in shatters, and a menacing voice growled "you broke everything, your suffering is almost at an end." And that Eleven is crucial for "winning this war."
Despite his death being one of season 3's biggest moments, the trailer for Stranger Things season 4 teases more Billy - could he return from the dead?
This is the most likely way in which Billy will return for Stranger Things season 4, as undoing his death in season 3 would be to undermine one of the show's most emotional redemption arcs. The return of fan-favorite Billy Hargrove for Stranger Things season 4 would be another of Stranger Things' major death fakeouts, and there's some evidence that this may be the case. Throughout seasons 2 and 3 of the show, Billy Hargrove's arc in Stranger Things was executed perfectly, with his role as a villain teased and built gradually.

In this most vulnerable time, a new and horrifying supernatural threat surfaces, presenting a gruesome mystery that, if solved, might finally put an end to the horrors of the Upside Down. “At the time, we predicted the story would last four to five seasons. The D&D villain’s ability to travel throughout the multiverse could very well be a part of the new Stranger Things figure’s backstory, as could his desire to conquer all other worlds. But if there are other realities in the world of Stranger Things, then it’s possible the show will use Vecna to introduce them. His rise in power only intensified his desire to ascend to full godhood, and influence and cosmic travels resulted in him becoming a threat reviled and feared throughout the entire D&D multiverse. Odds are the same will prove to be true for Vecna. That doesn’t mean the new Stranger Things villain won’t take certain cues from D&D though. There’s a new villain in the Upside Down. The latest trailer for Stranger Things Season 4 recently confirmed as much, offering fans their first look at a monstrous, humanoid figure the likes of which they’ve never seen in the Netflix series.
