Join us as we watch the 64th Academy Awards on Sunday night, and follow along for live updates and analysis of the award winners and best performances.

Unsurprisingly, “Folklore” won album of the year at last year’s Grammys, and if “Evermore” repeats the feat this year, it’ll make 2022 feel like 2021, but also like 2020, potentially cinching pandemic spacetime into a Gordian knot from which we may never be released: Taylortime, all the time, evermore, for real. Improving inclusivity is a noble and essential goal for the Recording Academy, but Grammy night is fundamentally about prestige — and the only way to transform something inherently exclusive into something more inclusive is by inviting new people and dismissing the same-olds. The idea here is that “bigger” means “more inclusive,” which doesn’t really make sense.

The K-pop wunderkinds oozed charm as they delivered an exuberant take on “Butter,” gliding across the stage in black tuxedos and paying homage to everything from “Ocean’s Eleven” to “Mission: Impossible” as they flicked playing cards and evaded lasers in suave Vegas style. The 19-year-old pop-punk breakout is already a Grammy winner going into Sunday’s telecast, picking up her first award for best pop solo performance (for debut single “Driver’s License”) hours before the show.
