EPL: Premier League glory most important for Klopp as Liverpool go ... (News9 Live)

Diogo Jota and Fabinho got the goals at Anfield as Klopp's men moved two points ahead of Manchester City, who travel to Burnley later on Saturday.

"The Premier League is the most important competition," said Klopp, whose side lifted the League Cup in February. A potential title decider away to City next weekend falls in between both legs of a Champions League quarter-final against Benfica before another meeting with City in the FA Cup semi-finals. "I don't think after the international break I ever see the best game of the season," added Klopp. "We were very mature and very controlled."

Liverpool take on Watford as Jurgen Klopp's side look to go top of the Premier League. A victory would see Liverpool move two points ahead of Manchester ...

Will Jurgen Klopp's side go top of the table or will Watford spring a surprise? Jurgen Klopp's side ran out 5-0 winners when these sides met at Vicarage Road earlier in the season, but they won't be taking anything for granted as It looks as if Gomez will be at right-back today as Alexander-Arnold is only on the bench. Watford have made it difficult for Jurgen Klopp's team at times, but as things stand Liverpool will be going top of the league. Watford then create a chance themselves, with the ball falling to Sarr, whose effort goes over. Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino, Joe Gomez and Curtis Jones all start as Liverpool make four changes from their last Premier League game. Liverpool certainly have had things their own way and Kamara is working hard as he looks to stop Salah from making a major impact. Following the subsequent corner Cucho Hernandez requires treatment following a clash of heads. It's expected that Salah will be replaced soon, with Sadio Mane poised to enter the fray. Watford then miss an excellent chance, with Sarr playing in Joao Pedro, who drags his effort wide. 65 mins: Fabinho plays a neat pass in towards Salah, whose effort goes just over. 82 mins: Jurgen Klopp looks a little concerned, with victory still not secure for his side.

Premier League predictions as our experts pick top 6 and ... (Mirror.co.uk)

Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham, Manchester United and West Ham are all in with a chance of Champions League qualification - but how will the top six finish?

Arsenal hold all the aces, having climbed to fourth while still having a game in hand, but their record of beating the biggest teams is poor and they still have Chelsea and Manchester United to face, not to mention West Ham. No-one is catching the top three of City, Liverpool and Chelsea. They are streets ahead of the rest in terms of quality. With City and Liverpool occupying the first two places, I fully expect Chelsea to cement third spot and Arsenal to win the race for that coveted fourth Champions League slot. Arsenal still have a wobble in them - and Antonio Conte is capable of driving even an erratic Tottenham team into fourth. They have no distractions, nice fixtures, points in the bag and games in hand. Tottenham should clinch fourth spot, with United, Arsenal and the Hammers taking the Europa League places. Mikel Arteta has done a superb job to get the Gunners to improve on eighth place last season and got a lot of big calls right like offloading Pierre Emerick Aubameyang. They also have a three-point advantage and at least one game in hand on chasing Tottenham, Manchester United and West Ham. The likes of Wolves, Villa, Leicester etc have left themselves too much to do and time is running out. And I’m going for West Ham to surprise everyone by nicking fourth place, because they also have a fixture list that can help them ambush the sides above them. And Arsenal look in better shape than Spurs for that fourth spot. It is much tighter for the lesser continental cups with five points splitting Wolves in eighth and Spurs in fifth.

The Reds will hope for a relatively comfortable lunchtime in front of their own fans, given they travel to Benfica on Tuesday before a trip to Etihad Stadium next weekend. Watford, meanwhile, are out to go level on points with 17th-place Everton in their fight for survival. First place in the Premier League will be Liverpool’s if they can avoid defeat at home to relegation-battling Watford in today’s early kick-off.

English Premier League weekend best bets (New York Post)

Best Bet #2 – Manchester United/Leicester City Over 3 Goals (-115). Much like Leeds United and Southampton, these teams don't like playing much defense. History ...

This season, it has scored 34 goals on 39.5 expected and a good chunk of that discrepancy has come at home. The duality with this play exciting me is that United’s attack has played very well at home while Leicester has struggled to defend on the road. Further, it hasn’t held a top-half opponent to fewer than two goals away from home this season. Given it notched 2.3 xG in the reverse fixture against Leeds, expect another strong performance from the Saints. Goals should come quite easily for the Peacocks, especially considering how bad Southampton’s defense has played away from home. As a result, I’m expecting goals in this fixture.

Super City win at Burnley to return to Premier League summit (Manchester City FC)

Manchester City returned to the top of the Premier League table after a brief hiatus with a 2-0 victory at Burnley.

23 - Man City are the only side yet to drop a single point from a winning position in the Premier League this season, winning all 23 games in which they’ve led. The home side set up with a 4-5-1 formation in a bid to frustrate us. It's a busy week - first we'll think about Atletico Madrid and then after that we’ll think about Liverpool." "The goal after five minutes was important but we still had to play 85 more. The pitch was difficult because the grass was so high but we adapted. This is why we’ve fought for the last 10, 11 months. Our second was equally as impressive and Sterling was again the architect. The win means City go back to the top of the Premier League table after a brief period in second. City were playing with a swagger, enjoying long periods of keep-ball. In the 2nd half they pushed more, they went 4-4-2 and they were more aggressive. Burnley were struggling to cope. No side has ever gone through an entire Premier League campaign without dropping points when ahead before.
