'Exhausted' festival organisers have made the sad decision to cancel this weekend's Yours & Owls Festival in Wollongong due to severe weather.

“With the amount of water that has landed on Stuart Park in the past few weeks, the flash flooding we experienced in The Gong over the weekend and the forecast for the rest of this week, we simply cannot safely execute this year’s event.” “With total exhaustion and sadness, we announce the cancellation of Yours and Owls 2022 due to flooding,” organisers said in a statement regarding the two-day event this afternoon. Organisers of Yours & Owls Festival have announced the cancellation of the event due to extreme weather events.

Wollongong festival Yours & Owls has been cancelled just days before it was set to take place, due to flooding in the region.

“First there were the bushfires, then the 2 year pandemic, now there are floods,” the duo wrote in a post on Instagram earlier today. Ticketholders will receive a full refund, with fans advised that Moshtix will be in direct contact regarding the process. Stay safe out there; we will be back bigger and better real soon.”

This time, the Wollongong fest has been foiled by the wet weather, including flash flooding over the weekend and more rain forecast for this week.

Due to take place this coming weekend — in Stuart Park from Saturday, April 2–Sunday, April 3 — this year's Yours and Owls has now been cancelled. Wollongong's Yours and Owls knows this all too well, but back in April 2021, it was able to go ahead — becoming the first major music festival that New South Wales had seen in over a year, as well as the first to allow dancing as well. It's been a tough couple of years to be in the music festival business, with the pandemic wreaking havoc on our daily lives, and COVID-19 lockdowns and restrictions limits the kinds of events that have been able to take place.
