Gran Turismo 7 is a sumptuous ode to car lovers everywhere (GQ Australia)

Visually stunning and wrapped in endless pillowy layers of racing romanticism, the first main entry in the motorsport series since the days of the PS3 ...

Put all of this together, and Gran Turismo 7 is a reassuringly familiar, yet rather awe-inspiring thing to experience. It's in this unfiltered approach to car appreciation and driving that Gran Turismo truly shines. In a way though, away from the grandeur of its races Gran Turismo 7 doesn't really feel that much bigger or more illustrious than scope than the 6 mainline titles that preceded. And with Gran Turismo 7 releasing today, we're happy to say that these still very much remain the core tenets of the first mainline entry in the franchise for 7 years. It's a slightly more regimented approach than the free-for-all, race-anywhere approach of Gran Turismo games old, which some may not like so much. There are, of course, places where Gran Turismo feels a little dated.

Gran Turismo 7: How to Get Roulette Tickets (& What They're Used ... (Game Rant)

It can be difficult to find a game that doesn't contain some form of gambling in this day and age. To their credit, PlayStation exclusives have usually been ...

Initially, players will only be able to get their hands on 1-Star Roulette Tickets, which they'll find in the "Gifts" section of their garage. Given how easy it is to earn credits in Gran Turismo 7 though, winning them from a Silver or Gold Roulette Ticket can feel like a bit of a slap in the face. The good news is that Gran Turismo 7 players can get a decent amount of Roulette Tickets without having to spend any actual money.

Idris Elba Is On The Gran Turismo 7 Soundtrack (Kotaku Australia)

The track features in the game's new Music Rally mode, and appears early in the game. Though the song titles are displayed on-screen, it appeared during a race ...

You can hear most of these songs in the game’s Music Rally mode if you prefer your racing to resemble a serene Sunday drive. You can hear that here ( https://open.spotify.com/track/42xYFBO1ahIWyisI7VVVEh?si=4c828c82ddfd40d3). Fellow British rock outfit Nothing But Thieves also dropped a new track for GT7 called “Life’s Coming In Slow” ( https://open.spotify.com/track/24SyVpif5eshcNmLKdvOcj?si=155ab2870ddb40b9). I was passing through a rain-slick stretch of Tokyo highway when Elba’s verse erupted from my headphones and I was forced to divert attention from the race to listen to it.

Gran Turismo 7 review: The legend continues (Tom's Guide)

Gran Turismo 7 is the pinnacle of simulation racing, with a wide array of vehicles, customization options and experiences that both newbies and series ...

Gran Turismo 7 offers a ridiculous amount of customization options for the vehicles you add to your collection. Collect additional beats to keep going, so that you can race until the end of the song. Save for a few fumbles, GT7 excels in nearly every category, and establishes itself as one of the best racing sims around. You’ll catch yourself second-guessing whether the vehicle parked near a home in the countryside is a photo of a real car, or an in-game rendering. You start out with a finite number of beats, and as you race around the track, you need to pass through extension gates. Quite often, you can buy at least some of these vehicles at the Used Car Dealership. You might otherwise need to win a race. One such addition is the Gran Turismo Café, where you visit a cozy little nook and chat with the proprietor, who shares his knowledge about the various cars of the world. (Even the appearance of COVID-19 makes an appearance as a world event.) The reason we're all here in Gran Turismo 7 is to hit the road. He'll offer you "Menu Books" to peruse and complete, with over 30 on offer to pore over. You'll find a healthy mix of returning tracks and new additions, with more options to come post-launch. We've come a long way since the days of Gran Turismo's PS1 debut, and the series has gone through many iterations since then.

Gran Turismo 7 is the line between gaming and the real world (9News)

Gran Turismo Sport was released on the PlayStation 4 in 2017, but it was less of a sequel and more of a game designed to fill in the online multiplayer gap.

Every inch of track can be felt through the controller's haptics, from tyre contact with the road to a puddle. Puddles dry up as you drive, one lap may be bucketing down with rain, two laps later it's just puddles, and a few laps after that the puddles have dried up. I'm going to put this down to the Japanese developers of GT7 having minimal knowledge of Australia's stadium ownerships. Right now there are six music tracks available, with more coming in the future. I felt purpose in collecting cars in GT7, each car wasn't just a number. Not only are the facts interesting, I honestly felt like I was learning something. Missions are essentially challenges for the player to complete and move forward with the main story, they'll also help you earn some bonus credits and unlock new cars. But instead of steps, it's counting miles travelled on the racetrack. The characters you meet, while not voiced, present well and expel positivity to drive you forward. Buying parts and tuning your car has significant weight to it. He'll then teach you a bit about the cars you've collected. There's so much passion and drive that's gone into making this game, and it's so evident the more you play.

Gran Turismo 7 review: "A simply stunning driving game" (GamesRadar)

Not enough is made about how games actually move, but Gran Turismo 7 nails it. It's simply a joy to control, with smooth, ultra-solid driving physics that simulate every element of the car's interaction with the track surface. The game ...

The game gives you three of these - again with Gold, Silver or Bronze awards - to play with while you wait for the full game to install, which is a nice touch, with three more when it has. These go up to 200 laps with a maximum of 20 cars on the screen. Music Replay syncs camera cuts to the music that you’re listening to, which is nice but not really worthy of a bullet point on the box. The only other area of consternation is the difficulty balancing. Fortunately that was all the trouble in some 30 hours of play, so I’m happy to say the game is an absolute delight for 99.9% of the time. It’s simply a joy to control, with smooth, ultra-solid driving physics that simulate every element of the car’s interaction with the track surface. The very last licence test takes this to its extreme conclusion with a lap of a half-dry Spa. It’s superb and absolutely hardcore. With the ultra-fast load times of PS5 (and not actually over-long on PS4), you’ll be zipping in and out of events, making it feel like - oddly - a handheld game. In fact going back to the PS4 version after 30 hours on PS5 is like stepping into the past. The cafe menus of automotive delights direct you towards races that will win you the cars you need, which is a great way of leading you by the hand through what would otherwise be a bewildering wealth of racing options. Progression events are clearly marked with a little yellow icon, and the gameplay itself in these races is very short - usually about 10 minutes a race. Best of all, it doesn’t pander to modernity in the slightest, instead delivering thoroughly ’90s game design, only in exquisite detail.

Gran Turismo 7 review: there's still nothing quite like it (The Verge)

Gran Turismo 7 launches on the PS5 and PS4 on March 4th, and while contenders like Forza Motorsport have appeared, the game manages to get at what has made ...

If you do vibe with Gran Turismo, though, this is a heck of a Gran Turismo. Gran Turismo 7 also makes the most of the PS5’s internal hardware. That’s a big change from earlier Gran Turismo games, which often looked equally sleek on the surface but didn’t have the performance to back it up. A wheel and pedals will always be the optimal way to play a game like Gran Turismo, of course, but this is by far the most satisfying controller experience I’ve had with a vaguely realistic racing game, and it’s the best showcase for the DualSense I’ve yet to see. Gran Turismo 7 puts the focus back on this unmistakable aesthetic — and is all the better for it. Gran Turismo Sport for the PlayStation 4 was a good game, but it focused on competitive online racing more than the single-player experience.

Gran Turismo 7 review: 'sprawling and engrossing' (Top Gear)

Gaming: Sony's racing behemoth returns, built for the PS5.

This is a game where you'll complete a race and then happily sit through the full replay just to ogle the cars. Most importantly, Gran Turismo 7 remains a sprawling, engrossing racing game that will handily hoover up hours of your life, to the detriment of work, family and personal hygiene. It's designed to be a more casual driving experience, emphasising driving to an eclectic, and frankly weird, selection of music tracks rather than focussing on listening intently for the first evidence of tyre scrub. Whereas your choice of cars and races entered used to feel unique to your own chosen route through the game, GT7 now holds your hand tighter than a frightened four-year old. Your progress through the single player game is now a lot more prescribed than it used to be. Most anticipated by longstanding series fans is the return of GT Mode, the sprawling car-collecting campaign that took you all the way from liberating a second hand road car from the classified ads to competing in the top echelons of motorsport.
