It is in this time that people who have lived through the natural disaster are most in need of support. Offer to wash and dry items to see what can be salvaged, or help empty a cupboard. Via the platform users can donate items, funds or time depending on what specific requests have been made from people and communities affected by storms and flooding. Local charities and groups are also accepting assistance.

The first victim of the flood disaster has been identified as the cleanup in Lismore gets underway.

On Wednesday morning residents of Logan, south of Brisbane, were put on high alert as floodwaters in the town continued to rise. Meanwhile, the residents of southeast Queensland have started a massive flood clean-up operation with many residents returning to their homes for the first time to assess the damage. NSW Premier Dominic Perrottet announced on Tuesday national disaster declarations had been made for 17 council areas in NSW due to the severity of the floods. Health officials said the hospital evacuation came on the advice of the local police commander, as a cautionary measure to protect the health and safety of patients and staff. A fourth person has been confirmed to have died in the Lismore floods while another victim of the disaster has been identified. An evacuation order was issued in the early hours of Wednesday morning for Ballina Island residents, while Ballina hospital was evacuated on Tuesday night due to rising floodwaters.
